Capitorio is a romantic holiday home in a restored 300-year-old stone barn, one of three one-bedroom holiday cottages at Podere Sant'Angelo, a small, family-run property set 700 metres high in the hills near Roccalbegna in the Maremma, southern Tuscany. Ideal for couples or small families wanting quiet, nature and big valley views, close to Saturnia and the Etruscan hill towns.
Capitorio is 50 m² in total, with a double bedroom, a fold-out armchair and a sofa bed in the living area, perfect for couples or a small family. The interior combines high ceilings, chestnut beams, terracotta floors and an open fireplace with a genuine cucina in muratura, a traditional brick-built kitchen with a stone sink.
From the estate you can walk directly into the surrounding hills or hire an e-bike in Roccalbegna. The private garden with sun loungers faces west across the Albegna Valley, ideal for sunsets. After dark, the Milky Way is clearly visible, far from light pollution. If you're looking for a peaceful rural stay in southern Tuscany, Podere Sant'Angelo is hard to beat.
The estate is known for its Mediterranean garden of lavender, rosemary and old roses, wide-open views and unforgettable sunsets.

Immer wieder das Highlight des Jahres
Seit 2016 sind wir mittlerweile zum sechsten Mal bei Graham in Podere Sant’Angelo. Meistens wohnen wir im Zolferate, der mittleren der drei Ferienappartements. Die Räume sind gemütlich, landestypisch eingerichtet und bieten ausreichend Schutz vor Hitze. Es ist alles da, was wir uns wünschen und das WLAN ist auch stark genug für das Arbeiten im Homeoffice. Immer wieder beeindruckend ist Grahams herzliche Gastfreundschaft, sodass wir uns hier wie zu Hause fühlen. Auch nach so vielen Besuchen gibt es immer Neues zu entdecken oder wiederzuentdecken. Im nächsten Jahr kommen wir wieder!
Naturoase mit einem sehr sympathischem Gastgeber
Wir haben fünf schöne Tage in Podere Sant‘ Angelo verbracht und uns von Anfang bis Ende sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Wetter hat zwar nicht immer mitgespielt, aber damit muss man wohl auch in Italien Ende März mal rechnen. Die Ferienwohnung ist äußerst gemütlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtet und entsprach genau unseren Erwartungen. Graham, unser herzlicher und vielsprachiger Gastgeber, hat uns mit großartigen Tipps für Aktivitäten versorgt, die unseren Aufenthalt in der Toskana unvergesslich gemacht haben. Besonders genossen haben wir kleine Wanderungen in der Umgebung mit ihren atemberaubenden Ausblicken auf die toskanische Landschaft. Aber auch ein Bad in den warmen Terme di Saturnia bleibt unvergeßlich . Lecker Pizza gab es in der Trattoria Pizzeria La Grotta in Roccalbegna Die Lage von Podere Sant‘ Angelo ist wunderbar– vollständig in die Natur und die Stille eingebettet – dafür muss man aber eine etwas holprige Anfahrt in Kauf nehmen, Der Garten ist ein wahres Paradies und wird von Graham mit viel Liebe gepflegt. Er war stets zur Stelle, um uns mit Rat und Tat zur Seite zu stehen und hat uns sogar mit typischen Produkten aus der Region willkommen geheißen. Der Blick auf das Grün und in das Tal ist einfach herrlich – leider konnten wir wegen des Wetters nur selten draußen sitzen. Die Wohnung selbst war makellos sauber und ist gut ausgestattet. Alles in allem war unser Aufenthalt bei Graham in Podere Sant‘ Angelo ein echtes Highlight. Wir haben nicht nur die Schönheit der Umgebung und die Ruhe genossen, sondern vor allem auch die herzliche Gastfreundschaft von Graham. Wir können diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und freuen uns schon auf unseren nächsten Besuch!

Geweldige plek om te onthaasten
Graham heeft een oase weten creëeren in een prachtige omgeving. Wil je echt tot rust komen en ver van alle rumoer bivakkeren dan ben je hier op de goede plaats. Graham zorgt ervoor dat je je meteen thuis voelt en heeft tal van tips mocht je even uit je relaxstand willen
Het was een genoegen om u weer te mogen verwelkomen op Podere Sant'Angelo voor uw tweede bezoek. Ik ben erg blij dat u weer genoten heeft van uw verblijf. Ik kijk ernaar uit om u beiden hier te verwelkomen voor uw derde bezoek!
Zum vierten Mal in Podere Sant
Wir haben hier eine Woche verbracht und uns wie immer sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr gemütlich, hat alles, was wir brauchen, und entspricht genau der Beschreibung. Graham hat uns wie jedes Mal gute Tipps gegeben, was man unternehmen kann. Wer Spaß an kurvenreichen Straßen hat, kann wunderbare Ausblicke auf die typische toskanische Landschaft vom Monte Amiata, Monte Labbro oder Castiglione d‘Orcia genießen. Lohnenswert sind auch eine Radtour im Parco naturale della Maremma (mit Bademöglichkeit in einer naturbelassenen Meeresbucht) und ein Bad in den schwefelhaltigen Terme di Saturnia. Wie bei jedem Aufenthalt gehören die Restaurants „Da Noi“ in Cana und „Il Barilotto“ in Santa Fiora zu unserem Pflichtprogramm. Es war bestimmt nicht unser letzter Besuch in Podere Sant‘ Angelo!

Un soggiorno rigenerante!
La struttura è completamente immersa nella natura e nel silenzio. Per arrivarci dalla strada provinciale c’è da fare qualche chilometro su strada bianca ma la pace e la posizione in cui si trova è impagabile.Il giardino è ben tenuto. Graham, il titolare, si è dimostrato da subito gentile accogliente e disponibile. Ci ha fornito le indicazioni utili per muoverci nei dintorni. L’appartamento è pulito e ordinato come la biancheria da letto e quella da bagno. Ogni stanza ha tutto il necessario, microonde compreso. Tutte le stanze sono arredate con cura e buon gusto in sintonia con la struttura e con il panorama della campagna circostante. Ringraziamo Graham per la piacevole accoglienza, non sarà toscano doc ma sicuramente ama e apprezza questi luoghi. Qui trovate quiete, natura e accoglienza!

Pace e relax per chi vuole staccare dalla routine quotidiana
L'appartamento è situato in una depandance staccata dalla casa principale dove risiede il proprietario. All'interno della depandance sono stati realizzati 2 appartamenti che mantengono molta privacy tra loro grazie agli accessi posti su lati differenti dell'edificio. Esternamente sono a disposizione un ombrellone ed un tavolo con sedie oltre che a dei lettini per prendere il sole. L'appartamento è spazioso dotato di tutti i confort, molto pulito. Proprietario sempre disponibile e discreto. Appartamento come da foto. Unici suoni sono quelli del cinguettio degli uccelli e del vento tra gli alberi. L'accesso alla proprietà avviene mediante una strada sterrata in mezzo alla natura di circa 3 km dalla strada principale. Bisogna procedere adagio se si ha una vettura ribassata. A mio avviso andrebbe posto un cartello all'incrocio principale con le indicazioni del Podere.
Un posto incantevole
Tutto un posto tranquillo e incantevole il panorama spettacolare il propietario una persona gentilissima nel appartamento ce tutto.
Una bella scoperta
Location molto bella, soprattutto l'area esterna: tavolo con sedie e ombrellone e sdraio. Prato e fiori di ogni tipo molto curati. Fare colazione all'aperto con vista sul verde è stato rigenerante. Il proprietario molto gentile e disponibile sia a dare consigli che a fare una chiacchierata. In più ci ha accolto con un prodotto tipico di Roccalbegna e una bottiglia di rosso. Cosa vuoi di più?!
Wonderful Tuscan House
Wonderful Tuscan House in rural location. The house had been thoughtfully decorated with all kitchen requirements. Very clean. The Owner was very knowledgeable about the area & his recommendations were very useful. I would recommend this vacation home to all.
A place to come back to!
Our helpful host, Graham, created a lovely property in an exceptional location in the middle of nowhere. It's 10-15 minutes from the main road, so tranquil and dark; you can see the milky way every night! Graham nicely decorated the apartment, and the main bed's mattress was very comfortable. The shower was excellent, considering Italy's usual lack of water pressure. The screens kept the mosquitos out, and Graham bought fans because it was so hot during our stay! Our apartment had a large covered terrace with a beautiful view over the well-maintained garden and the surroundings with every night a stunning sunset.
