Our holiday apartment Albegna is located at an altitude of 700 metres in the hills of the Maremma, in the south of Tuscany.
Albegna is one of three one-bedroom holiday cottages at Podere Sant'Angelo — a small, family-run property in the hills of southern Tuscany. The other cottages, Capitorio and Zolferate, share the same peaceful setting and are available to book separately.
This charming nature house combines modern comforts with traditional Tuscan style. The high ceilings, terracotta floors, and large windows create a bright, airy atmosphere. The characteristic brick kitchen with a natural stone sink and modern appliances invites you to prepare local dishes with locally sourced ingredients. Ideal for couples and small families who appreciate peace, nature, and the outdoors.
From the apartment, you can take beautiful walks directly from Podere Sant'Angelo, or explore the surrounding hills by e-bike (e-bikes are available for rent in Roccalbegna). French doors lead directly to your private garden with sun loungers and views over the Albegna Valley.
Under the spacious, covered 21m² veranda, you can enjoy a good glass of wine, a cozy meal, or a barbecue on the Weber grill as the sun slowly sinks behind the hills. In the evening, the view is enchanting: the silence of the countryside and a starry sky make this a place to truly unwind. The well-maintained Mediterranean garden at Podere Sant'Angelo, with its lavender, rosemary, and old roses, enhances the sense of space, tranquility, and nature.

Albegna is suitable for two adults (plus one child up to 12 years old). A cot and high chair are available for children.
Your host lives on site and will personally welcome you in English. He's also happy to give you tips on hiking trails, restaurants, and local producers.
Good to know: Podere Sant'Angelo is located off the main road network. You reach the holiday home after about three kilometers via a well-maintained strada bianca (an unpaved country road), typical of the Tuscan landscape – a guarantee of peace, privacy, and authentic charm.

Wohnung Albenga
Wir haben eine wunderschöne, entspannte Woche bei Graham verbracht. Wer Natur und absolute Ruhe sucht, ist hier richtig. Wir brauchten erst ein paar Tage um uns an die Stille die nur durch das Summen der Bienen und das Zwitschern der Vögel unterbrochen wird. Unser Gastgeber Graham war superfreundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und komfortabel. Alles in allem nur positive Überraschungen.
Beautiful gem in Tuscany
One of our best discoveries for holiday accommodations. We had a wonderful week in Albegna, such a very cosy and comfy house. The weather, the flowers, the birds, the bees, the views, it could not have been better. And not to forget our kind and friendly host Graham, who makes a great welcome for you. We enjoyed sharing a good bottle of Italian wine with Graham in the evening sun on the terrace. Don't mind the "strade bianchi". It's magic, each yard brings you further to this fantastic place and each time you drive the road it is shorter and quicker, besides, it is only 2 miles :) A place to remember and to come back to!

Delightful Retreat
Our stay at Podere Sant’Angelo was beyond our expectations. A welcome retreat after the crowds in Rome and Amalfi Coast. Graham was an outstanding host. He offered many thoughtful recommendations for day trips to beautiful medieval towns. His restaurant referrals were top notch. Be sure to visit the ceramic shop in Arcidosso for beautiful handcrafted pottery.

We have had a wonderful relaxing two week holiday in Albegna apartment. It was so comfortable and well equipped. The views from the porticato are beautiful, different sunsets every evening! Lots of nature to see including butterflies, bees and birds. We will certainly be planning a return visit.

Just amazing
We've had an amazing time at this lovely place. The apartment is very well equipped and there is everything you need (we stayed at albegna apartment). Even a baby bed is available. Graham gave us many valuable tips about excursions and local stores and we had pleasant conversations. The view from this elevated location is just amazing. Thank you for our great holiday.

Schöne Lage
Die Freundlichkeit, die Lage und der Ausblick,der tolle Garten, die tolle Terrasse mit Sofa!
Ein Traum - Klare 5 Sterne!
Wir haben uns in der Wohnung „Albegna“ von Anbeginn an rundum wohl gefühlt. Die Wohnung ist wirklich mit Liebe eingerichtet und die Raumaufteilung ist optimal. Die Küchenausstattung ist super durchdacht - es hat auch dort an gar nichts gefehlt. Die überdachte Terrasse ist der Traum - sie bietet am Tag wohltuenden Schatten und freien Blick auf den großzügigen Garten, die weite Ebene und auf die untergehende Abendsonne. Der gesamte Garten ist von natürlicher Schönheit und sehr gepflegt - eine Augenweide….. Graham, der Gastgeber, ist sehr zuvorkommend und aufmerksam und hat uns mit vielen wertvollen Tipps versorgt. Einziger Wermutstropfen ist der wirklich holprige 7-minütige Schotter-Zufahrtsweg vom Anwesen zur Straße - aber für diesen kann weder Graham noch die Unterkunft etwas - dieser ist vielmehr charakteristisch für die „wilde Toskana“. ;-) Fazit: von uns gibt’s klare 10 Punkte!

Herrliche Terrasse und blick
Absolute ruhe, nette wohnung und sehr netter Vermieter. Das haus ist sehr abgelegen und nur über eine sehr holprige, lange schotterstraße erreichbar,. dafür wie gesagt absolute idylle.
Un endroit parfait pour se reposer
Les gîtes sont très agréables et confortables. Ils sont bien équipés, il manque juste une râpe à fromage pour le parmigiano, on est en Italie ! La vue sur les collines Toscanes depuis la terrasse est magnifique surtout au couché du soleil. Les villages aux alentours sont charmants et pittoresques. Le site est très calme et parfait pour se reposer. Graham, le propriétaire est très sympathique et nous a très bien accueilli. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour et nous recommanderons vivement ce petit havre de paix dans le sud de la Toscane.
