About Podere Sant’Angelo – Eco‑Friendly Holiday Cottages in Southern Tuscany
Podere Sant’Angelo is our eco‑friendly property in the hills of the Maremma in southern Tuscany. We look after three self‑catering one‑bedroom cottages, each with a private garden and wide views across the Albegna valley, suitable for two adults or two adults and one child. This is a quiet, nature‑based place to stay, ideal for walking, e‑biking and exploring the area.
Where you stay
Podere Sant’Angelo sits on a hillside 700 metres above sea level with open views west over the Albegna valley, a great spot for long summer sunsets and cooler evenings. The cottages are surrounded by a well‑maintained garden with aromatic Mediterranean plants and herbs you can use for cooking. The area is not intensively farmed, so you’ll notice bees, butterflies and many different birds around the property.
Meet your host, Graham
I grew up in the North West of England and studied at St Andrews in Scotland. I then left the UK to live and work in many different countries. After spending a lot of time in some of the largest cities in the world, I now appreciate living in close contact with nature.
I've been enjoying life here at Podere Sant'Angelo for more than fifteen years. It gives me enormous pleasure to share my experiences here in the Maremma with my guests. I'm happy to advise on where to visit and where you can eat well. I know lots of enjoyable walks around the area and am happy to share these with guests too.

At night, the sky is extraordinary. With almost no light pollution, the Milky Way stretches clearly above the house and shooting stars are a regular sight. It is a rare experience that makes evenings here unforgettable.
Some of my favourite places nearby include the Abbazia di Sant’Antimo, set in a beautiful valley landscape, cycling through the Parco della Maremma to its quiet beaches, and soaking in the warm waters of the Terme di Saturnia in the soft light of early evening.
